Twas the month before Christmas and time to reflect.
So I thought I would share what did you expect?
My nephew turned two at the start of this year.
Talking and walking, quite a handful I hear.
When March came around and I was finished with class,
it was time to get busy, start busting my ass.
I had a business to build and success to achieve
There were bills to pay and debts to relieve.
Then spring came with start and a landscaping urge,
contractors, minds, and money converge.
The deck is all finished, the trees have been planted,
the fact that theyll bloom, I just take for granted.
What an improvement it is! Its hard to believe.
My view has improved and my Mom is relieved.
While purchasing trees, came another surprise -
tall, dark and handsome with crystal blue eyes!
It didnt take long til we were head over heels
and plans for our future were spinning like wheels.
In the meantime, my business did actually grow,
but the money, while coming, was still a bit slow.
My web site debuted, but is still not complete.
Putting your life on the Net is no easy feat.
Harmony and the cats are doing just fine,
theres still a debate over rank my bets on feline.
October began with a proposal unreal,
and over the radio we made quite a deal.
Followed with flowers and an incredible ring ...
In love and content, I wanted to sing.
Im sorry to say the month ended in tears,
true healing from that loss might even take years.
She was after all, our first baby to be
And how much she was loved was amazing to me.
But now when I feel the tears starting to well,
I just say a prayer for Samantha Michelle.
My godson however turns four very soon.
Its doubtful he still thinks that I hung the moon.
His mother, my best friend is on the East Coast,
doing great on the airwaves with her finance and host.
As I look back on this year, my reflection complete - t
he feeling, as always, is a tad bittersweet.
My family is healthy, my friends strong and true.
My business is booming, my problems are few.
Im sorry to see one more year have to end,
but Im anxious to see whats around the next bend.
As this year 2000 comes to a close,
I hope that your joys outnumber your woes.
Take care and be true to the you of yourself -
put your worries and doubts on the back on the shelf.
I wish you abundance for the upcoming year
and unlimited joy of the season so near.
